Night Must Fall - a psychological thriller by Emlyn Williams
Watford Pump House Theatre May 25th to 28th 2016

Tickets £12 (£11.50 Concessions).

Synopsis
Set in the mid-1930s, in her bungalow on the edge of a forest in Essex, a
crotchety old widow has become bitter due to loneliness and ill health. Together with her unmarried niece as companion/carer, the household includes a spirited housekeeper and a meek, somewhat clumsy maid, Dora. The normal routine is broken by the appearance of Dora's 'boyfriend', Danny - who instantly weighs up the dynamics in the household and soon manoeuvres himself into the affections of both the old lady and her niece. Dora reveals she is pregnant and the police report the disappearance of a woman who was a guest at a local hotel where Danny had been working. A body is then found - the first of many connections. Danny is taken on by the old lady as a further carer but it soon becomes obvious to all except the old dear that he cares more about her wealth than her health and that 'evil' has come to Forest Corner.
