Belmont Theatre is an established multi-award winning resident theatre company which usually performs three times a year at The Pump House Theatre , Watford, Hertfordshire. The group rehearses in the Carpenders Park Community Hall.
Although an amateur company, run entirely by volunteers, we strive for excellence in all theatrical matters and perform a wide variety of productions (classic dramas, comedies and thrillers), which often sell out.
We cater for all levels of experience from beginners to professionals (unpaid). Besides the actors, an average production can need up to 30 people behind the scenes to put the production on so we always need new members with diverse skills.

"My Old Lady" by Israel Horowitz
12-15 February 2025
When a down on his luck middle aged man inherits an apartment in Paris, he plans to solve his financial woes by selling it. He arrives on the doorstep and discovers, to his dismay, that the elderly woman living there has lifetime habitation rights under an arcane French law and she is not about to give them up. Because he has no other place to go, she invites him to stay in the spacious apartment. A spiral of friendship, romance with the old lady's outspoken daughter, and some uncomfortable revelations about his unmourned father affect all in this poignant play.
