'Shakespeare workshop'.

Scenes from a Belmont Theatre workshop, which gave members a great introduction to the language of Shakespeare which gave a good insight to the rhythms and flow of the language. Very interesting and a chance for us all to get into the informal swing of the afternoon.
Below is clip from 'Julius Caesar ..'

An Introduction workshop by Linda Hampson

The Shakespeare Event is took place at The Pump House on Sunday 17th May 2015
Short excerpts from Shakespeare's plays were performed under the tutelage of Linda Hampson.

Contents of the workshop:
An Introduction to playing Shakespeare
•  Brief introduction (me, Linda Hampson)- welcome, aim of session etc.
•  Shakespearian    verse    (Colin    Hickman,    an    expert    colleague    from Proscenium
Theatre Club)
• Participatory workshop . participants divide into groups, each will work with a director on a
rehearsed reading of a short scene from Shakespeare and then a performance from the group with
feedback/discussion.
This  was  an  important  workshop  event  for  Belmont Theatre

Below you can see how some of our members recently enjoyed this very successful
'Shakespeare workshop'.

We would all very much like to thank Linda Hampson and Melville Lovatt who organised it all. A special thank you also goes to Carole, Mary-Anne and Jane who are all to be applauded for the work they all put in. Great stuff.
Also Colin Hickman from Proscenium Theatre Club gave a great introduction to the language of Shakespeare which gave a good insight to the rhythms and flow of the language. Very interesting and a chance for us all to get into the informal swing of the afternoon.
