News letter post AGM June 30th 2015
Chairmans chat
Thank you to everybody who attended the recent AGM. It certainly was a lively affair, with lots of ideas and suggestions.
I’m delighted to welcome onto the committee Carole and Mary-Anne.
Carole will be a valuable link between the main committee and the play reading group in sorting out a programe of challenging and attractive plays for the forthcoming months.
Mary-Anne will be getting involved with our membership team who will really get down to the knotty problem of attracting new members to the group.
The AGM saw me report to the group on our Focus Evening event (click to read full report) and the ideas that flowed from that, will form a good part of our program to expand the profile of Belmont Theatre Company locally.
An important part of the AGM was a very frank discussion on the future of Belmont Theatre Company and no doubt you will hear more on that during the year. This really is a make or break year for the group. I think people were made aware of that in stark terms. So the new Belmont years sees us launch into rehearsals for PARDON ME PRIME MINISTER, which I’m directing. It will be great fun to rehearse and will prove very popular with our audiences.
The Box Office for the show opens early August 2015. This is to give our Box Office gurus a bit of a break.
We look forward to people popping into rehearsals to see how things are progressing and playing your part in publicising the production and the group to friends and family.
Please take time to view our website and access especially our Diary Dates Link under the members page. Just click on the members and Patrons Page - password: belmont, not rocket science, and you're there…………….

London Noda AGM
Michael, myself and Estelle got up at the crack of dawn and pottered over to Potters Bar to attend this prestigious annual event. Apart from meeting lots of our friends from local amateur theatre, we were also nominated for
The Shinfield Players Scenic Award (In Memory of Pat Barr) for our production of Remembrance in February this year. I am pleased to announce that we were awarded a Highly Commended certificate. Tithe Farm Players won with their Laughter In The Dark set. Not only that, but we witnessed Victoria Absolon from Potters Bar Theatre Company for Rose - Trelawny of the Wells receiving the Sybil Conway Award for Best Female Character in a Play. Also Larissa Webb from Eldorado Musical Productions receiving the Louise English Award for an under 30 year old's outstanding contribution to theatre. Both awards given to London NODA by Belmont in memory of Louise and Sybil. See photos below.
