The set is the backdrop against which the actors perform and is key to the audience appreciation of a show. Belmont Theatre has won many awards for its sets and is staging is an open day at our 'get in' at The Pump House for 'A Woman of no Importance' on Sunday 20th October 2013. This is aimed primarily at people who may have an interest or are intrigued by stage lighting, sound or stage construction/design. We are inviting members of the public to come along to the theatre between 11.00am and 3.00pm to meet the group, view backstage, see the lighting/sound deck, watch lights being rigged and the staging put together. This event is free of charge. Rehearsal are well underway for the latest show "A Woman of no Importance" a brilliantly witty and sharp piece of writing by Oscar Wilde, one of his best. The cast are being put through their paces by our experienced Director, David Goldman who certainly knows this play inside out. Slowly lines are being learnt and moves mapped out as the play comes together. We have a very experienced cast revelling in the wonderful prose so skilfully put together.
