We invite all members, patrons and prospective members to a play reading evening on Friday 13th September 2013 8.00pm at our Carpenders Park rehearsal venue when we will be reading our planned play for February 2014 the hilarious comedy 'Caught in the Net' written by the master of farce Ray Cooney. If you want to know more please email Michael on [email protected] . We look upon this a social event and if successful we’ll certainly organise more.
'Caught in the Net' is the sequel to the hilarious 'Run for your Wife' (a play that Belmont presented back in 1994).
We find John Smith, that rogue of a taxi driver, still married to 2 unsuspecting wives, Barbara in Streatham and Mary in Wimbledon BUT now he has a son , Gavin in Streatham and a daughter, Vicki in Wimbledon !!!
The youngsters meet whilst surfing the net and fall in love. They are amazed at the coincidences concerning their respective fathers. Both called John Smith, both the same age and remarkably they are both taxi drivers!!
Inevitably in true Ray Cooney style the romp begins with mistaken identities as the plot develops and descends into chaos.
An hilarious night out to delight all the family and sure to be a Box Office winner.
Please spread the word about this play reading evening.
